A few days prior, Johnny Depp just went on social media revealing he is asked to resign from his character. A petition has been signed for the removal of Johnny by Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 and now it has reached over 900K signatures.
The case was on trial in July, and prior to this week means on last Monday the judge ruled against Depp, stating that there was enough evidence to support Heard's claims. Depp then announced that he was asked to resign from Fantastic Beasts 3, with the studio confirming he would be recast. This news was made after the 57-year-old actor lost the libel suit against a British tabloid. He was called "wife beater" in regards to his troublesome marriage with Amber Heard. There has been a petition for the 34-year-old actress with a ton of signatures floating around to have Amber removed from Aquaman 2, which is also under Warner Bros. Heard stated that the fans are the reason to make Aquaman and Aquaman 2 happen. Aquaman 2 is yet not officially greenlit by Warner Bros. Ther’s nothing confirmed so far but The Stand star revealed that the production hopes to get underway sometime in 2021.
Amber shared her feelings with EW saying, "I'm super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that Aquaman has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we'll be coming back."
