Noida: On Friday afternoon, a 22-year-old student committed suicide after her ex-boyfriend allegedly harassed her. The incident took place around 1:30 pm when the deceased hanged herself from the ceiling fan at her paying guest accommodation in Sector Alpha 2. The college is situated in Greater Noida. 

As per reports from Source, both the victim and the accused had been in a relationship for the past few years but broke up in January. They both belong from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, on Friday, the accused had reached the victim's father office in Jhansi and allegedly threatened to show him some of her objectional pictures.

The victim's younger sister who lived with her at the paying guest accommodation told that the victim after having a conference call with her ex-boyfriend and her college friend committed suicide. Meanwhile, the victim's college friend stated that during the conference call, the accused asked her college friend about how long had he known her from.

Later, the accused called the college friend separately and informed him that the deceased was not picking up his call and asked him to check with her. When the friend went to the woman's PG, he found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan. They then informed her parents and the management of the university.

In a statement to media, the victim's father said that his daughter was a brave girl who could not have committed suicide and that he will continue to seek justice for her. However, at Kasna police station, the woman’s father has filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend and on the basis of the complaint, the accused has been held under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.
