Assam police busted a human trafficking racket in Guwahati, Assam.  The racket has been busted by the police in Guwahati?s Hatigaon area. Police arrested  3 persons in connection with the case. 

The accused have been arrested as Lalita Devi, Jundaram Gujjar and Sahidul Haque. Of the three arrested, Lalita Devi and Jundaram Gujjar hail from Rajasthan.  On the other hand, Sahidul Haque is a resident of Chaygaon area near Guwahati.   A police official said, ?We have been trying to nab persons involved in the racket since a long time now. Those arrested have been involved in sex and human racketeering. We tracked these persons to Rajasthan."

A girl from Bongaigaon in Assam was also rescued by the police while busting the human trafficking racket. According to the report, the girl was trafficked from Bongaigaon and was ?sold? in Rajasthan by the traffickers for Rs 1.5 lakhs.  The arrested persons also reportedly created ruckus at the police station before being sent to jail.
