Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the outgoing president of the wrestling federation, has been the subject of discussion for a long time. Seven women wrestlers have accused him of sexual harassment. Among them is a minor female wrestler, who has withdrawn her allegations. She has recorded two statements before the police and the magistrate.

Sources said the wrestler had recorded her statement under Section 164 of the CRPC before a magistrate. The statement made in court is also called evidence. Now this court will decide whether to pursue the charges or not and the trial will decide which statement is also preferred under Section 164.

At the same time, in the FIR lodged with the Delhi Police, the minor wrestler has also accused Brij Bhushan of sexual torture several times. The harassment is being explained in detail in the FIR. The wrestler's father had said that the wrestler was very upset after the incident and was in constant fear due to the sexual harassment committed by Singh. The complaint also states, "Brij Bhushan has asked the wrestler to hold him tight and force her to take a photo and pull her towards him. Brij Bhushan gripped her shoulder tightly and then deliberately put a hand on her chest. ”

On May 10, the wrestler also recorded her statement before the magistrate for the first time. At the same time, cases have also been registered under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sections 354, 354A, 354D of the IPC. Section 10 deals with aggravated sexual assault against a minor and carries a jail term of up to 7 years. At the same time, Section 9 of the POCSO Act is also defining sexual assault.

Senior advocate Rebecca John has said, "I am not surprised. The delay in arrest in such cases puts the complainant under pressure. Such conflicts can be long and painful. When women come out in such cases, they put their lives and careers at stake. ”
