Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a student stabbed his classmate over a girl whom they both loved. The incident was reported from a college in north Bengaluru on Wednesday morning. Police arrested the prime accused Rakshith and his 17-year-old accomplice.

The 18-year-old deceased was identified as Dayasagar SD who resided in Manjunathanagar and was a commerce student. Bagalagunte police arrested the Rakshith and his 17-year-old accomplice. A case was filed against them on charges of murder.

A police official investigating the case said that the incident took place in the toilet on the fourth floor of the college at around 8:30 am on Wednesday.

As per the initial investigation the two boys, who loved the same girl, would have frequent verbal fights and threaten each other. According to the police, Rakshith had brought a knife to college on Wednesday after receiving a death threat from his classmate on Tuesday night. Rakshith asked his accomplice to send Dayasagar to the toilet. Dayasagar allegedly stabbed Rakshith in his neck.  Dayasagar was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where he died due to heavy blood loss.
