Raipur: Police have arrested a criminal man in connection with the double murder case in the Surguja district within 24 hours. The perpetrator of the murder turned out to be the former husband of the deceased woman, who was left by the woman after being harassed by him after marriage. The criminal was hostile to this. He systematically attacked the woman's husband, and her child and took the woman with him on a bike. After raping her in the forest, she was also killed and the body was hanged from a tree. SP Bhavna Gupta revealed the murder on Tuesday.

Asaram Yadav (30), a resident of Thor village under Ambikapur Kotwali police station area, and his two-year-old son were abducted after his wife Urmila was abducted on Sunday night. Asaram Yadav died in the hospital on Monday morning. The seriously injured child has been referred to Raipur. The body of Asaram's abducted wife Urmila was found hanging in Mutki forest in the Udaipur area, 45 km from the district headquarters. Surguja SP Bhavna Gupta had constituted an investigation team to investigate the double murder.

SP Bhavna Gupta said that the police have arrested Rakesh Rajwade alias Jaggu, a resident of Korja in the Lakhanpur police station area. Criminal Rakesh is an old crook. His brother is also in jail. Rakesh was married to Urmila 4-5 years ago. Due to assault and torture, she had left Rakesh and was living with Asaram Yadav as a wife. Police said that Rakesh has committed this horrific incident due to the rivalry for leaving the criminal. Rakesh Rajwade had opened the door of the house through Urmila and fatally attacked her husband and child. The criminal took Urmila to Udaipur forest forcibly by Asaram Yadav's motorcycle. There he raped the married woman and killed her too. Her body was found hanging from a tree on Monday. Blood was oozing out of her face. The deceased, Asaram, was working at Government Polytechnic College Ramanujganj. The police have sent the culprit to jail.
