LUCKNOW: In a shocking, incident a man and his second wife in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow killed a seven-month-old baby and buried her in the fields.

Sanjay, a motor mechanic, and his second wife, Meena, were detained on Wednesday evening on charges of killing after the body was exhumed and post-mortem examination was done which found an antemortem head injury and fracture on the left hand.

The decision to exhume the body was made by ADCP South Rajesh Srivastava in response to the FIR filed by the girl's mother Pramila, who alleged that Sanjay, her previous husband, had killed the infant at Meena's request.

Pramila and Sanjay have two daughters and have been married for nine years. The couple divorced a few months ago, and Pramila relocated to Kakori with her two girls.Sanjay recently married Meena, but on July 21, he came to Pramila's house and abducted both of her girls.

Pramila returned four days later to greet her girls and discovered the younger one missing. She challenged Sanjay, but he remained silent.

Pramila enquired with her neighbours, who informed her that they had seen Sanjay in the fields the day before. She then approached the police, who apprehended Sanjay and Meena. Sanjay confessed to his crime, police said.
