Dibrugarh police fire on a suspected robber, were planning Huge loot

Today, another suspected robber was wounded while attempting to run from police custody in Chabua, Upper Assam's Dibrugarh district.

Dhananjay Giri, the injured accused, has been recognised. According to police officials, the Chabua Police in Dibrugarh apprehended four people who were suspected of being involved in a robbery plan.  Jintu Tasa, Rama Shankar Giri, and Biswajit Das were detained. On Friday, they devised a burglary plan at Sealkotee Tea Estate in Chabua.

A car was also taken from these culprits by the police. "Yesterday we received information that a group of criminals were seated at a Dhaba in Chabua and intending to pilfer money that was come for the payment of tea workers," Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Misha stated.

"We launched an operation and arrested them from the dhaba based on the intelligence," he said, "but one of them tried to run." He went on to say that the police had to shoot to halt the fifth guy. He was shot in the leg, and the police took him to the AMCH after apprehending him. "Five offenders have been hurt in police shooting in Dibrugarh district so far," Mishra said.
