Abu Dhabi: The first qualifier of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played on the Dubai ground between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC). The match was named after Mumbai Indians (MI) and made it to the finals of IPL 2020. For the sixth time, the Mumbai team has reached the final of the IPL.
In this match, Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. The Mumbai team scored 200 runs, losing 5 wickets in 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan's half-centuries and Hardik Pandya's knock of 37 runs. Delhi had a target of 201 runs to win, but even after Stoinnis' half-century innings, Delhi managed to score 143 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 57 runs.
After this big win, Mumbai team has proudly reached the final of IPL 2020 like a defending champion team. However, Delhi Capitals also have one chance to reach the final. For Delhi, the way to the finals is not yet closed and they will have to compete with the winning team of the Eliminator (Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore) match to reach the final.
