Guwahati: The accused Rakesh Karmakar killed Hemant Mandal (35 years old), son of Rabindranath Mandal of Jhargaon village under Mayang police station of Morigaon, near Digaru Chariali under Sonapur police station of Kamrup-Metro district, due to grievous head injury.  the doctor declared him dead .

During interrogation by the police, it was found that the accused criminal is Rakesh Karmakar (26 years old and son of Geju Karmakar, village number 2 Baruabari under Sonapur police station of Kamrup-Metro district). Hemant Mandal had appointed Karmakar as the night watchman of the garage. Police source said that the accused person Rakesh Karmakar had attacked the victim with a hammer, due to which the victim died.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused and also recovered the weapon used in Mandal's murder. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the police that he had committed the crime. During interrogation, the accused further claimed that he was frequently insulted by the deceased. Karmakar also confessed his crime in front of the police. An FIR has been registered by the father of the deceased and accordingly Sonapur PS Case No. 574/2021; u/s- 302 IPC Registered. Necessary legal action is on.
